Important Things To Know When Registering
Our team is NOT a learn-to-swim club. Due to our long waitlist and limited resources, we have had to make adjustments to our program's minimum requirements. Please take note of the updated criteria for participation:
After registration, prior to the first official swim practice, mandatory assessments will be conducted. All applicants must be able to hold themselves in the water, swim 200m in freestyle, 50m Backstroke, 50m Breaststroke non-stop, un-aided and without any floatation devices. These minimum requirements are equivalent to Lifesaving Swimmer 6 or True Blue Level 10 and we require your swimmer(s) to be at these levels. You can place your child on wait list before they are able to meet this requirement. However, when you are offered a spot and accept it - it is your responsibility to make sure that your child meets this requirement before first practice.
Minimum age to register is now 7 years old.
Volunteer hours have been raised to 9 hours per family.
A $200 bond cheque is required to be an active member, and it is due before the first official practice after registration.
It's crucial to emphasize that all registrants, including returning members, siblings, and new members, must undergo an assessment during the first couple of weeks of practice. This assessment is vital for us to evaluate each participant's skill level and ensure appropriate placement within our program.
Furthermore, we must highlight that our pool is deep, and our club is not equipped to work with non-swimmers. Therefore, it's imperative that all participants meet the minimum swimming requirements mentioned above. The club reserves the right to cancel a registration if the child is not able to participate effectively. No refunds will be issued.
New Members on the Waitlist: If you're on the waitlist, you will receive an email from the Registrar between July 22 - November 30, 2024, when a spot becomes available.
